In the framework of C4C in Bolivia seven projects are currently being implemented in the economic development sector, and six in the education sector.
All projects in the educational sector are heavily involved in digitising their materials. For example by using interactive DVDs with a strong historical and social focus on indigenous populations, educational games using Flash, on-line exams in primary education, DVDs or short films on practical subjects in vocational training, ‘micropíldoras audiovisuales’ (simply designed cartoons with a strong educational component) and materials for secondary school curricula.
The coherence of the programme has been strengthened considerably, notably through the educational platform, through exchanging the design approach developed by Educatic between the partners (APCOB, CEPAC, Educatic, CEE, IRFA and Fe y Alegria). The educational platform is receiving widespread interest, also from the Ministry of Education, and is generally accepted as a useful platform for collecting and offering educational materials. Besides this the Educatic approach in developing interactive educational materials is being widely
shared among project partners and other actors on the educational scene in Bolivia.
Economic development programme
The C4C projects in the economic development sector cover a variety of aspects, like a price information system, production monitoring systems linking offer and demand, certification of agricultural production, financial monitoring of microcredit and farmers’ extension using ICTs. Technical innovations are at play in all projects, either by operating databases residing in the Internet or by making information available through a variety of digital media.
Knowledge exchange is actively encouraged by the TIC Bolivia network. They work together with the following local organisations: CIOEC, PROFITRURAL, PROINPA, FINRURAL, CEPAC-CIDOB, AOPEB, ACLO and Fundacion Autapo.
